dated ‘II / VI 1928’ (lower left) pencil on paper 13 x 8 cm executed in 1928 Pavel Pashkov (1872, Moscow - 1952, Moscow). Honored Artist of the USSR. Talented graphic artist and painter. The author of characteristic drawings depicting the types of the NEP period. Member of the Moscow Association of Artists. Belonged to an old noble family. He studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. In the 1930s he worked as a scenic artist at the Academic Maly Theater. In 1927, in the library of the Moscow Maly Theater held an exhibition of original sketches P.P. Pashkov. The artist repeatedly exhibited at All-Union exhibitions. He taught at Stroganov Art-Industrial School, together with A.A. Deineka, V.V.. Pochetalov, O.V. Chistyakov. Works of the artist are in the Radischev State Art Museum in Saratov, in the Museum of the Maly Theater in Moscow.
