ATTEND A LIVE AUCTION
The auction house accepts bids placed in person during a live auction. To place a bid, we ask you to register in advance with one of the Hermitage Fine Art assistants. Once the registration is complete, you will receive your membership number. If you are making a bid for a third party, it is necessary to provide a letter on behalf of the client for whom the bid is placed, a passport copy and their bank details. The letter should be addressed to the Auction house confirming the third party’s intent to participate in the bidding.
If you plan to register for the live auction you should provide the Hermitage Fine Art staff with a copy of your passport, bank details and a completed registration form in advance.
BY ABSENTEE BID
If you are unable to attend an auction, the Hermitage Fine Art team is pleased to consider your absentee bid. If you wish to register remotely, we ask you to send your application to “email”. In the application, please provide the maximum bid for the lot you wish to bid on, your personal details, address, your bank details as well as, a copy of your passport. The bid can also be placed by one of the employees during the official exhibition before the auction.
If your maximum bid is accepted you will receive an email confirmation. During the live bidding, the auctioneer will add bids on your behalf until your specified sum has been reached.
If you prefer to bid by phone, the Hermitage Fine Art team can bid on your behalf during the sale. Telephone bidding can be conducted in three languages: English, Russian and French. To implement this service, we ask you to send a preliminary application to the e-mail of the auction house with the lot data of your choice, your personal details, address, bank details and a copy of your passport. If you are arranging a telephone bid, please clearly specify the number on which you can be reached at the time of the sale, including the country code. Alternatively, you can register your participation to bid by phone with one of the Hermitage Fine Art employees during the pre-auction exhibition.
If your maximum bid is accepted you will receive an email confirmation. During the live bidding, a member of the salesroom team will be present at the auction to relay bids to the auctioneer on your behalf, while on the phone with you. We ask that you track the time when the relevant lot is offered and prepare for the bidding in advance.
Hermitage Fine Art is pleased to offer you an online bidding platform with real-time broadcasting so that you could bid from anywhere in the world.
Once you have chosen your preferred bidding method, please review the accompanying regulations, as well as the additional commission fees for participation. Successful bidders will receive an invoice by email within two working days of the auction. To avoid complications, we kindly ask you to specify your personal details, phone number and address during the initial registration.
