Half-length portrait of a hussar, in a shako mod. 1812 with tricolor cockade, red pompon, brass plate and cords, wearing red dolman with a light blue collar and sleeves, laces and light blue fur trim.
The 9th Hussar Regiment was a hussar regiment of the French army, fought in the Napoleonic Wars, World War I and the Algerian War before finally disbanded in 1979.
