Didier Daurat was a legendary figure of l'Aéropostale, the ‘boss’, as he was respectfully called by the heroes of the France-South America route, like Mermoz, Vachet,
Antoine, Dubourdieu, Guillaumet, Reine, among the most famous aviators of the time, not forgetting Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who drew inspiration from him for the main character of his novel Vol de Nuit (1931).
