Fascicles bound in 1 volume of 30x22x4cm. Half cloth with corners. Tape reinforcement, foxing, spotting. Numerous illustrations in black and in colour in and out of the text. Main illustrators: Auguste ROUBILLE, Louis ICART, Adrien BARRERE as well as Henry Gerbault, Albert Guillaume, Chéri Hérouard, André Foy, Torné-Esquius, Raoul Vion, SAT, René Préjelan, Julien Jacques Leclerc, Joseph Kuhn-Régnier, Edmund Blampied, Armand Vallée, Ben-Sussan, William Heath Robinson, Jean Ray, F. Roy, etc.... Fantasio, subtitled «Magazine gai», was a French bimonthly illustrated satirical periodical, published on the 1st and 15th of each month, by Félix Juven, from 1906 to 1937. A large part of the articles concerns the world of theatre, music-hall, the fanciful aspects of the stage and letters, but also political and public life in general. All the covers were made by Auguste Roubille (1872-1955), a French painter, draughtsman, poster artist, decorator and caricaturist.
