Sergei Sergeyevich Solomko (1867-1928) was a Russian artist, illustrator, graphic artist, and watercolourist with a distinctive "Russian style". He worked for many magazines, including "Mir Iskusstva," "Zolotoe Runo," "Niva," and others, illustrating works by A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, N. Gogol. From 1910, he lived permanently in Paris, where he gained great popularity. He created illustrations for several editions for Parisian publishers and produced a series of postcards on themes of Russian antiquity for the Lapin publishing house.
