Lot 325
1 0001 200
rectangular writing folder with a green velvet cover richly embroidered in gold thread. The decoration features the Imperial monogram ‘OA’ of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna beneath the Imperial Russian Crown, flanked by oak and laurel branches. In Russian military symbolism, the oak represents strength and steadfastness, while the laurel signifies glory and victory.
The iconography may relate to the Grand Duchess’s appointment in 1901 as Honorary Colonel (Chef) of the 12th Akhtyrka Hussar Regiment, whose regimental insignia prominently incorporated these heraldic emblems.
