group in polychrome enamelled porcelain with gilt highlights, on a naturalistic rocky base forming a mound. The scene depicts a young shepherd couple, barefoot and shown in a tender interaction. The shepherdess, wearing a purple bodice and a green striped skirt with painted floral decoration, holds a large wicker basket overflowing with applied fruit in relief. The shepherd, dressed in an apple-green jacket with floral cuffs, is seated beside a finely modelled lamb. The ground is enriched with sculpted vine clusters and branches. Moulded and decorated in period after the 1769 model by the sculptor Michel Victor Acier (1736–1799). Marks: Meissen factory mark ‘crossed swords’ in underglaze blue, historical model number ‘C 41’ incised by hand in the soft paste, modeller’s number ‘121’ and geometric atelier mark incised. 19.5 x 15.5 cm Condition: good period condition, fine freshness of 19th-century enamels, minor surface wear and slight rubbing to the gilding on the raised reliefs of the base Upon the buyer’s request, we are pleased to provide a general condition report for the Lot described above.
