In four owner's full calf bindings (1907, Nos. 1-12). Publisher's covers preserved. In publisher's covers: all issues for 1908-1916, Indices, Supplements. In good condition; minor soiling, tears, and losses of small fragments along the edges of covers and spines, cracks along the spines. The magazine was initiated by the secretary of the 'Circle of Lovers of Russian Fine Editions' P.P. Weiner, who also became its publisher. Another founder, V.A. Vereshchagin, became the chief editor. It printed materials on the history of Russian art, provided descriptions of private and public collections, informed about auctions and private sales of works of art in Russia and abroad, indicating paintings and prices, acquainted readers with the activities of museums. The magazine paid great attention to the problems of preserving monuments of art and antiquity in Russia. The contributors to the magazine included G.K. Lukomsky, P.P. Muratov, N.K. Roerich, I.E. Grabar, V.Y. Kurbatov, P.N. Stolpiansky, A.N. Kube, S.R. Ernst, V.Y. Adaryukov, I.E. Bondarenko, V.A. Shchavinsky and others. The magazine was known for its strict, elegant design, extensive illustrative material, and excellent printing. The edition of the magazine: 1907-1910. - 1000-2000 copies, 1911-1916. - 3200-5000 copies. In addition to the main edition, 50-150 copies of each issue were printed for free distribution to libraries of higher educational institutions, authors of journal articles and other persons.
