The first complete edition.
Although the title page indicates the second edition, it is, in fact, the first complete separate edition of the novel. Initially, in January 1862, the first part of the novel was separately published at the printing house of E. Pratsa. Later, F. Dostoevsky signed a contract with A. Bazunov for the complete edition in two parts. ‘Notes’ were printed on thick paper and in a good font. In total, four editions were published during the author's lifetime
