Sheet: 25x22 cm The diameter of the miniature is 10.6 cm. The artist’s signature at the bottom of the drawing: «C. C.». In the lower field of the sheet, the owner’s entry: «St. Petersburg, Dez. 1912». The drawing was made in the album of I. Gunter, which he mentions in his memoirs: «Sudeikin was inimitable and unforgettable. <...> We immediately became friends, and on the first day he drew me in my memorial book a charming, full of ironic allegory, color miniature: I in my chic three-piece surrounded by three masks (Sudeikin, his wife and Kuzmin), from which I was dragged away by a beautiful naked woman - Life.» Provenance: From the legacy of I. Gunter. Johannes von Gunter (1886-1973) was a German poet and a prominent translator of Russian literature.
