J. KASSEL The Princely Nights. The first Russian edition, Riga, 1928, 243 p., Colorful cover with the image of nighttime Pigalle. Joseph Kessel - French writer of Russian origin, pilot of the French army in the First and Second World War. He produced gramophone records of the well-known Russian Gypsies Dimitrievich and Volodya Polyakov at his own expense. The novel "The Princely Nights", describes the Russian nighttime Pigalle of the 1920s, and is in fact a historical and partly biographical work for the author himself.
