Alim Rijinachvili (1948–2016) was a Georgian artist of Moldovan birth. He moved to Georgia in 1951 and graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of Arts in 1973. In 1990 he settled in Germany, where he developed an internationally exhibited artistic practice. His work was shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and Georgia, and is represented in major public collections including the Museum of Oriental Art and the Museum of the Avant-Garde ‘Mars’ in Moscow, the Tbilisi Museum of Contemporary Art, the Gallery ‘Express-Avantgarde’ in Moscow, and the Ludwig Collection in Aachen.
