1p. 23 x 16 cm Establisher of many charitable foundations, van der Burch was a clergyman originally from Ghent (Belgium), whose ecclesiastical path started as canon of Arras Cathedral, vicar general of the diocese of Arras, and archdeacon of the archdiocese of Mechelen (Belgium). In 1612 he was appointed as bishop of Ghent, and, in 1616, instituted as archbishop of Cambrai.
