One hundred illuminated brush drawings, with a preface by M. Jules Claretie of the Académie Française. Paris, Ernest Flammarion Éditeur [circa 1900] 1 folio volume in hardback cover closed with two ribbons. 2 inside flaps damaged and one missing, cover a little dusty. Good condition however. 23,6 x 17 cm 1st edition, complete with 100 plates of costumes from 1801 to 1900, showing the evolution of women's fashion, particularly Parisian women. Plates 22.8 x 16.9 cm illustration 15.3 x 9.7 cm Added: An original pencil drawing for the year 1813 signed by Henri Boutet ['HB'] lower left, with some autograph notes for printing, dated 5 September 1899.
