1) Autograph letter signed "Sarah" December 4, 1884 Autograph letter from Sarah BERNHARDT, without place, addressed to "My Dear". 3 pp. 1/4 with her monogram and motto "Quand même" on double-leaf mourning paper. In French. 16 x 9,7 cm Good condition Letter written the day the news of Jean Richepin's illness appeared in Gil Blas and l'Evènement: "I am desperate" She does not feel guilty for all this evil. She adored him and still does: "It's awful, I'm a fatal being" She asks him to come and see him at the theatre this evening. She asks for news, "oh, for God's sake, news". 2) Book "Sarah Bernhardt" of 71 pages comprising 18 photographs. Paris, Edition of "Publications Willy Fischer", s.d. Black soft cover. Art Nouveau illustrations on the front cover, including her slogan "Quand même". Fair condition. Lacking binding thread, pages are detached from the cover. Henriette-Marie-Sarah Bernardt, known as Sarah Bernhardt, was one of the most important French actresses of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
