life in Moscow. The Armenian artist enjoyed painting etudes of the Volga. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1883-1890)
under I. Levitan, V.E. Makovsky, A.K. Savrasov, and was friends with K. Korovin.
