signed 'Muller Freres Luneville' on the base H.11 cm, W. 5.5 cm Muller Frères (Co.) was a highly regarded French glassmaking company located in Luneville, France. Renowned for their exceptional Art Nouveau creations, such as vases, lampshades, and chandeliers, Muller Frères often utilized layered and colored glass in their designs. The workshop was founded in 1895 by Henri Muller and his brothers, who had received training from Émile Gallé. However, their establishment of a competing enterprise led to a strained relationship with Gallé. In 1910, Muller Frères began collaborating with Chapelle to produce lamps. The company was forced to halt production in 1933 and subsequently closed in 1936 due to the adverse effects of the Great Depression.
