Maurice Pernot's analysis of Romania's domestic political situation (conflict between the "reigning dynasty" and the "ruling dynasty": the Bratianos) and economic situation (excesses of liberal policies; "to favour two million city dwellers, thirteen million peasants were reduced to poverty") is extremely astute.
