pli sur étiquette, accroc sur collerette Wrinkled Label, Scuffed Capsule Label Artist: RUFINO TAMAYO (1899-1991) In 1990, Tamayo, one of the most famous Mexican artists of the 20th century, agreed to create an original work for the label of Mouton Rothschild. Fate decided otherwise, but his family wanted the artist’s wishes to be fulfilled and gave this «Brindis» to illustrate the 1998 millésime: the man giving a toast, a banal popular ritual that Tamayo transforms, under a glowing sun, into a striking allegory of desire captured in its raw state. Provenance: Private wine cellar from a Villa in the South of France. (preserved in the cellar with regulated hydrometry and temperature)
