Osanne was a student of the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts in Paris from 1947 to 1953, then of the National School of Fine Arts in 1954 and 1955. From 1956 to 1960 she honed her etching and lithography skills with the well-known printmaker Jacques Hallez in Marseille. From there, she spent the next couple of decades linked to the world of theater, creating sets and costumes for television, the Avignon festival, the national drama center of Aix-en-Provence, the Petit Odéon, the Hébertot theater and the Cartoucherie de Vincennes. However, she did not stop making her own artwork, and in 1984, she met the Surrealist Henri Goetz, who introduced Osanne to carborundum engraving, a process that he invented.
