Held from 7–9 April 2026 at the prestigious Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, our Spring Auctions brought together three distinguished sales dedicated to Fine Art, Jewellery & Design, and Rare Books, Manuscripts & Autographs, attracting strong international participation and remarkable results across all categories.

Over the course of these three landmark auctions, we were honoured to present an exceptional selection of rare and museum-quality works, like the Volu Dining Pavilion by Zaha Hadid, or a unique bracelet set with a spectacular 156-carat aquamarine.

More than 2,000 bidders registered for the auctions, with nearly 300 successful buyers participating from 23 countries. Estimates ranging from €50 to €900,000 reflected both the breadth and accessibility of the material presented. Collectors joined the sales via five online platforms, by telephone, and in the saleroom, creating a vibrant and highly competitive atmosphere across the three days.

Several lots sparked intense bidding battles and achieved prices far beyond expectations. Among the standout moments of the series was the sale of a Chinese export silver tea and coffee service (lot 400), where bidding opened at €500 before fierce competition between room, telephone, and online bidders ultimately drove the hammer price to €4,500.

Fine Art

The sales also confirmed the continued strength of the market for important Russian paintings and works on paper. Notable results included lot 148 by Nikolai Dubovskoy, which realised €32,500, lot 121 by Isaac Levitan, sold for €20,800, and lot 150 by Mikhail Brzhevsky, which achieved €6,500.

Several works acquired during the auctions are expected to enter major French museum collections, further highlighting the historical significance of the material presented. This is notably the case for several drawings by Irina Steinberg, which will now join important public institutions.

Jewellery and design

One of the strongest-performing departments of the season was design and jewellery. Highlights ranged from an impressive pair of Russian malachite vases, lot 527, which sold for €9,100, to the highly sought-after Hermès chess set, lot 563, which achieved €4,420.

We also presented a large collection of historical Russian silver and porcelain like a plate from the Mikhailovsky service (lot 488) dated between 1820–1830 and sold for €4,400 or a Russian beaker (lot 422) from the late 17th century sold €2,500.

Across the jewellery sale, signed jewellery continued to attract the widest international audience, with strong competition for creations by Cartier, alongside rare unique pieces and highly desirable vintage jewels.

Rare books and manuscripts

Today, Hermitage Fine Art is recognised among Europe's leading auction houses for rare collectible books, manuscripts, and autographs.

This department attracted particular attention for its selection of avant-garde publications, landmark first editions, photography, and autograph material. Highlights included an early gelatin silver print by Alexander Rodchenko, the exceptionally rare first edition of Der Blaue Reiter by Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc (€1,625), as well as Les Pénalités de l'Enfer ou les Nouvelles-Hébrides by Robert Desnos illustrated by Joan Miró (€6,250).

Strong interest was also seen for the set of four gelatin silver prints of Pablo Picasso by André Villers (€1,875). The sale further featured important Imperial Russian historical material, including the official program for the Coronation of Nicholas II and Alexandra Fyodorovna at the Imperial Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1896, alongside rare Russian avant-garde publications featuring first appearances by David Burliuk and Velimir Khlebnikov, estimated for €150 and sold at €4,486.

An exceptional private collection dedicated to rare cocktail and gastronomy books likewise attracted considerable enthusiasm from collectors and connoisseurs, further contributing to the success of the Spring Auctions 2026.

With strong participation across all channels, exceptional bidding activity, and the presentation of important works throughout the series, the Spring Auctions 2026 marked another significant milestone for our company and further underscored the vitality of today's international collecting market. A success made possible thanks to the trust of our sellers and the enthusiasm of buyers.

Located in the heart of Monaco, Hermitage Fine Art continues to source exceptional material worldwide, bringing to the Principality museum-quality works of art, rare collectibles, and unique objects for an international clientele of collectors and connoisseurs.
