Pavel Ivanovich Kharitonenko (1852–1914) was one of the leading Russian industrialists, philanthropists and art collectors of his generation. A prominent patron of the arts, he served as chairman of the Society of Friends of the Rumyantsev Museum and was an honorary member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. His celebrated collection included masterpieces by artists such as Ivan Kramskoi, Vladimir Borovikovsky and Mikhail Nesterov.
Aleksei Fedorovich Korostin (1903–1957) was a distinguished art historian, collector and one of the leading specialists in Russian printmaking (estampes) during the first half of the twentieth century. A senior researcher in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, he authored several important studies on Russian graphic art and assembled a notable collection of drawings and prints.
