The original finely chased gilt-bronze mounts are embellished with garnet cabochons. The interior, fully lined in white onyx, retains its original construction with a gilt-bronze hinge secured by the original screws. Marks: maker’s mark of Martyn Mikitin Lavrov in Cyrillic ‘ML’ in interlaced cursive within a lozenge, and retailer’s mark ‘G&M’ within a lobed rectangular cartouche. 4.5 × 10 × 6.8 cm gross weight: 680 gr.
