rectangular jewellery casket constructed from polished translucent white onyx panels, inlaid with Ural malachite stringing. The original finely chased gilt-bronze mounts are embellished with garnet cabochons. The interior, fully lined in white onyx, retains its original construction with a gilt-bronze hinge secured by the original screws.
Marks: maker’s mark of Martyn Mikitin Lavrov in Cyrillic ‘ML’ in interlaced cursive within a lozenge, and retailer’s mark ‘G&M’ within a lobed rectangular cartouche.
