An illustrated chronicle of the visit of Emperor Nicholas II and his consort Alexandra Feodorovna to France in October 1896, marking the conclusion of the Franco-Russian Alliance. The work includes numerous photographs from the imperial family archives, as well as drawings by several French illustrators. Edited and supervised by François Coppée (1842–1908), a French poet and writer. The book features photographs by leading French photographers of the time who documented the royal couple’s official visit: Pierre Petit, F. Nadar, G. Worth and E. Gaillard.
