Painter, draughtsman, costume designer, set designer and one of the most innovative and influential French poster artists and lithographers of the early 20th century. He made his name in 1925 with his poster for the Revue Nègre, which helped launch Josephine Baker’s career and propelled him to the forefront of the modern school of lithographic poster art.
