Elizabeth Taylor (1932–2011) was an American actress, philanthropist, and fashion designer. She is widely considered the last great diva of Hollywood’s Golden Age, celebrated for her beauty and talent. Roman Karmen (1906–1978) was a famous Soviet film director. This photograph was taken at a reception in the Kremlin during the 1957 International Film Festival.
