His iconic photograph Raising a Flag over the Reichtag is considered one of the most significant images of World War II. Yves Montand, pseudonym of Ivo Livi, (1921-1991) was an Italian-French actor and singer. His first wife was the famous actress Simone Signoret (1921-1985).
