Apukhtin]’ (lower center), largely inscribed in Cyrillic and dated ‘1979’ with a stamp (lower right) watercolour, pencil on paper 51.5 x 35 cm executed in 1979 Galina Andreevna Nesterovskaya was a Soviet and Ukrainian costume designer and painter. Graduated from the Theatre and Set Design Department of the Kharkiv Art Institute in 1937, she worked in cinema from 1949 as a production designer and costume designer. Nikolai Alexandrovich Apukhtin (1924- 1996) was a Soviet and Ukrainian ballet dancer and teacher, principal dancer at the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine from 1945 to 1966.
