Dmitri Krasnopevtsev was a Russian nonconformist painter associated with metaphysical art and the Moscow underground. Trained in Moscow, he developed a quiet, introspective visual language centered on austere still lifes with stylized forms and muted tones. His work, imbued with a sense of spirituality and reflection on time, diverged from official realism and stands as one of the most distinctive bodies of work in late 20th-century Russian art.
