The icon was probably adorned with a beaded or pearl-encrusted oklad. This is evidenced by the following inscription on the back: ‘The cloth covering of this icon was sewn by the wife of the Lieutenant Colonel, Ekaterina Alekseevna Kopotina herself on 4 August 1839.’
Condition: overall in good condition, with fragmentary toning on the background and margins. The faces are without restorations.
