Dolotov’ (on the reverse) wood, gesso, gold leaf, tempera 31 x 27 cm Condition: overall good condition, chip on the lower edge of the icon. Mikhail Fedorov Dolotov was a peasant from the village of Palekh in Russia, a representative of an icon-painting dynasty whose workshops worked ‘on commission for wealthy Old Believers’. The icon represents a considerable interest for the collectors.
