one signed (lower right) pencil on paper (i) 29.5 x 27 cm (ii) 28 x 27.4 cm Onufry Terentevich Bizyukov (1897–1986) was born in Velizh, Smolensk Region. He studied at the Mirgorod Art-Industrial School and the Kyiv Art Institute, later teaching at the Kyiv Art College (1920–1931). From 1929 to 1932 he was a member of ARIU, the All-Ukrainian Association of Artists, closely linked to the Boychukist movement. In 1935 he was repressed as a follower of the ‘reactionary school of Boychukism.’
