stamp (lower right) pencil on paper 57 x 41.3 cm Born in Odessa in the family of Karaites, a hereditary honorary citizen. In 1886 – 1890 he studied at ORCHIES (with K. Kostandi). In 1890 he entered St. Petersburg Academy of arts (studied with Pavel Chistyakov). In 1893 left AH, received the title of class artist. He attended the Academy Julien and colarossi in Paris. Was part of the Odessa society of fine arts, was a Board member and Secretary of Church. Taught in secondary educational institutions of Odessa. In 1917, together with K. Kostandi was elected representative of Church at the Odessa Union of plastic arts. From 1920 he lived and worked in Constantinople in 1929 – in Paris, since 1930 – in Vilna.
