Sergei Yakovlevich Savinov was a writer, journalist, and translator. He fought in World War I and the Russian Civil War. As an émigré, he lived in Prague and later in Berlin. He was one of the representatives of the Pan-Slavic movement in exile. During World War II, he found himself in Germany, was a displaced person, and continued to write and publish his works in Munich.
