– 79, [1] p.; 20x16 cm. In the publisher's illustrated cover by artist V. Drozevskaya. Very good condition. Minor scuffs on the cover. Evgeny Andreevich Gagarin, Russian émigré writer. He lived in Germany and enrolled in the philosophy department at the University of Leuven (Belgium), where he studied art history. Due to financial hardship, he dropped out of school, graduated from the forestry academy in Eberswalde, and found work as a forester in Berlin. He was acquainted with many prominent Russian émigré writers (Bunin, Zaitsev, Shmelev). He published in Russian and German, often touching on the theme of the conflict between old and new Russia, Soviet repression, and collectivization. He died after being hit by a truck.
