(i) signed and dated 'AB 1946' (lower right), (ii) inscribed in pencil ‘Seignor a la Cour’ watercolour and pencil on paper 23.6 x 15.6 cm Since Diaghilev’s production, The Sleeping Beauty has been staged in many revivals all over the world. Alexander Benois designed costumes several productions, including the 1946 Royal Ballet staging at Covent Garden and the 1953 production at Teatro alla Scala, Milan.
