Lieutenant General Muravyov, commander of the Lithuanian Grenadier Regiment, sent a brief description of the battle won by the army against the rebel Seravsky in early April. Lieutenant General Muravyov wishes that the exploits of this battle be published in military newspapers edited by Nikolai Grech.
On 17 April 1831, a battle took place near the village of Wronow between Polish rebels led by Julian Szerawski and a Russian detachment commanded by Baron K. A. Kreiz, during the Polish Uprising of 1830–1831.
Count Karl Fedorovich Tol (1777-1842) was a Russian military and statesman, general of the infantry, participant in the wars against Napoleon. He serves ad quartermaster general during the Patriotic War of 1812, and from 1833 held the post of chief administrator of transport and public buildings.
Nikolai Ivanovich Grech (1787-1867) was a Russian writer, editor, publisher, journalist, philologist, teacher, publicist, translator and memoirist. He was the author of acclaimed Russian grammar textbooks. In 1829-1831, he was editor of the Journal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
