Alexei Petrovich Ermolov (1777-1861) was a Russian military leader, statesman and diplomat who participated in many major wars fought by the Russian Empire from the 1790s to the 1820s. Chief Administrator of Civil Affairs and Border Affairs in Georgia, Astrakhan and Caucasus Provinces; Commander of the Separate Georgian Corps (1816-1827).
