The sheet is folded into an envelope, with the addressee and sender indicated on the reverse side of the second page, and a red wax seal with the Barclay de Tolly coat of arms. In French. He informs that the Emperor agrees with the Duke’s wish to be in London at the same time as the Emperor. Count Mikhail Bogdanovich Barclay de Tolly (1761-1818) was a Russian military commander of Scottish-German origin. An outstanding Russian military leader, Minister of War, Field Marshal, Hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, commander of the Russian army at the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1812 and commander of the combined Russian-Prussian army in the foreign campaign of 1813-1814.
