In a composite period binding. Leather banded spine with gold embossing, covers pasted with "marbled" paper. In good condition. Scuffing on the spine and covers, minor soiling, a stain in the upper corner of the last pages of the text block, traces of moisture, foxing. Ownership inscription on the endpaper: "Pavlov Boris Alekseevich." First edition in Russian. ERNEST LEGOUVÉ (1807-1903) – French prose writer and playwright, member of the French Academy (1855); advocated for women's rights and compulsory childhood education in France.
