In period cardboard binding. Publisher's ornamented cover is preserved. In good condition. Losses along the edges of the boards and spine, minor soiling to the cover, foxing, deaccession stamp on the title page and its verso, p. 17, and stamped ex-libris of S.N. Troinitsky’s library on the title page. A rare work of fiction from the first half of the 19th century, not recorded in auction history. Provenance: From the collection of Sergey Nikolaevich Troinitsky (1882-1948) – art historian, co-founder of the journal Starye Gody, and director of the Hermitage (1918–1927).
