A satirical and fantastical collection by the renowned writer and editor Osip Ivanovich Senkovsky (1800-1858), founder of Russia’s first ‘thick journal’, Biblioteka dlya chteniya. ‘The witty and mocking sketches of Brambeus, written in the form of travels through Turkey, Bear Island, and Mount Etna, satirized many literary and philosophical trends of the time.’
