Giulio Alary, or Jules Alary.
Italian composer, conductor and teacher, based in Paris from 1835. After settling in France, he made his name as a composer, became a singing teacher and, over the years, was appointed conductor of the Casino-Paganini, librarian and conductor of the Société des concerts de musique vocale religieuse et classique, accompanist at Napoleon III's chapel and at the Théâtre-Italien.
He composed sacred, instrumental and vocal music to Italian, French, English and German lyrics, including numerous singing exercises and several works for the stage, some of which were successful.
