Caputo’ (lower left) oil on canvas 100 x 140 cm Provenance: Private collection, Monaco Ulisse Caputo was an Italian-French painter whose works gained significant recognition in the early 20th century. His paintings were featured in the 1907 and 1909 Venice Biennale, and he earned a medal at the 1909 Salon of the Société des Artistes Français, followed by a gold medal at the 1910 Munich exhibition. In the 1920s, Caputo exhibited in North and South America. From 1924 to 1930, he travelled to Morocco, initially joining a French military campaign led by General Louis Hubert Lyautey, and later working for the Governor, Count de Chambrun.
