Square 90 x 90 cm, with box, new condition
Princess Grace used the 'Deo Juvante Monaco' square by Hermès in 1857-1958, as a scarf to hold her broken arm, combining practicality and elegance.
The scarf bears the motto of the Principality of Monaco 'Deo Juvante' meaning 'With God's help', a phrase used by Lambert Grimaldi to secure his kingship after foiling a plot in 1458; this important motto is also found on Monaco's coat of arms and coins.
