Alexandra Nikolaevna (1825-1844) – the younger daughter of Nicholas I and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna, named after her mother. On July 29, 1844, three months before her due date, Alexandra Nikolaevna gave birth to a son who died shortly after birth, and she herself passed away the same day. The Emperor-father wept openly, unashamed of his tears. He believed his daughter's death was divine punishment for the blood shed in the year of her birth, the year of the suppression of the December revolt.
