He worked as an artist-decorator in the Uzbek dramatic theatre, and later participated in numerous open-air openings and other exhibitions of alternative art in Moscow. An important role in Alferov’s formation was his friendship with the most brilliant representative of unofficial art of those years - Anatoly Zverev. The two artists often lived together and worked side by side, exchanging creative ideas.
