In a composite binding of the era. Kolenkorovyy koreshok, the covers are lined with "marble" paper. In very good condition. Minor creases on pages. Gold-stamped superekslibris "A.S.O." in the lower field of the binding, owner's inscription "A. Orlov" on the front endpaper and p. 5, illegible owner's inscription on the title page. VLADIMIR IVANOVICH NAZANSKY (1877-1939) was the last assistant to the Moscow city governor, a colonel of the cavalry artillery of the Imperial Russian Army. From 1910 to 1915, he served as an assistant to the governor of Baku and performed the duties of a police chief. A chronicle of historical events based on data from historical archives, personal recollections, accounts of eyewitnesses, and participants in the events. A significant portion of the documents referred to by the author were destroyed in a fire during the Nazi occupation of Paris during World War II.
