Alexander Mikhailovich Gorchakov (1798-1883) was the head of the Russian foreign affairs department under Alexander II, the last Chancellor of the Russian Empire (from 1867).
Pavel Alexeevich Krüdener (Baron Paul-Ludwig von Krüdener; 1784-1858) was a Russian diplomat from the Baltic German nobility, a privy councillor. From 1827 to 1837, he was an ambassador to the United States, and from 1837 to 1858, he headed the Russian mission in
Switzerland.
